Help

Answers to the questions most people ask first.

Getting started
What are the three tactical features?

FrameTactics operates on a progression loop:

  • Log Observation (Free): Analyze a past situation to understand the frames at play.
  • Chat / Email (Pro): Paste a live multi-turn thread to get turn-by-turn tactical advice.
  • Pre-Mortem (Pro): Paste a draft message to stress-test it for weakness before you send it.
What is an "observation"?

An observation is a specific situation you want analysed in the Log Observation feature. Not a general question — a description of what actually happened.

Too vague: "Should I text her back?"

Specific enough: "She texted three times today about small things. Last time we met she mentioned another guy. I want to ask her out but I don't want to seem desperate."

The second version tells the system what happened and what you want. The first one doesn't. Aim for 3–6 sentences covering: what was said or done, what the context was, and what you want to happen next.

Which context do I pick?

The context tells the system how to read the situation. Pick the one that best matches:

  • Dating — romantic interest, courtship, early relationships
  • Social — group dynamics, friendships, status negotiation
  • Professional — workplace, hierarchy, upward influence
  • Negotiation — bounded exchanges with material stakes
  • Law enforcement — interviews, crisis negotiation, witness contact

If you're unsure, pick the closest one. You can always run another analysis with a different context and compare.

Why was my observation rejected as clinical?

The service refuses to analyse content it identifies as clinical or therapeutic in nature — anything that reads as counselling, diagnosis, or mental-health support.

This isn't a moral position. It's an operational one. FrameTactics produces tactical briefs, not clinical guidance. Mixing the two produces output that's neither useful tactical analysis nor safe clinical advice.

If you need clinical support, this service is not a substitute for a qualified professional.

Understanding the output
What do the four sections mean?

Governing fact — the one claim about your situation that, if wrong, would change what you do next. It's a claim, not a description. If nothing could prove it false, it's the wrong kind of statement.

Mechanism — why the pattern works the way it does. What the other person gains or protects by acting this way. What happens if you respond one way versus another.

Move — the specific words or action for the next five minutes. Not a category. The move itself, in the words you'd actually use.

Watch for — three specific observables in the response. Not feelings. Things you can see or hear that tell you whether the move landed.

What is "watch for" actually telling me to do?

Each observable is a branch point. If the response matches one of them, that tells you which way to read the situation next.

For example: "Whether she re-initiates after a pause" tells you that if she comes back first, the interest is real; if she doesn't, you hold position. The observables aren't decoration — they're the decision tree for what comes after the move.

Why isn't the analysis longer?

Length isn't the goal. A tactical brief that names one specific move you can execute is more useful than a page of options you have to weigh.

The system is deliberately compact. If it ends with three options, it has failed. It ends with one decision or a clear reason to wait.

Accounts and billing
What's the difference between Free and Pro?

Free: 1 Log Observation analysis per day. Observations are deleted immediately.

Pro: Unlimited Log Observations, plus exclusive access to the Chat/Email Analysis and Pre-Mortem engines. Pro users also get data retention settings, priority processing, and data export.

All tiers use the same ruthless tactical models. The difference is volume and feature access, not quality.

How do I upgrade?

Tap the crown icon in the app header, or the "Upgrade to Pro" button that appears when you hit your daily limit. Both open the upgrade options.

Billing is handled by Gumroad. After completing the purchase, paste your license key into the "Already upgraded? Verify your license" field to activate Pro on your account.

I upgraded but Pro isn't active.

Paste the license key from your Gumroad purchase confirmation into the "Already upgraded? Verify your license" link in the upgrade overlay. The verification is immediate.

If the key was already used on another account, contact us with the purchase email and license key.

How do I cancel?

Cancel through your Gumroad account. Go to gumroad.com/library, find the subscription, and cancel. Your Pro access continues until the end of the billing period.

Data and privacy
What happens to my observations?

Free tier: your observation is deleted immediately after the analysis completes. The response includes a retention_action field confirming this.

Pro tier: observations are retained per your setting (default 30 days). You can change this or set it to zero at any time.

Unanalysed observations on the Free tier are deleted after 48 hours.

Do you train AI models on my data?

No. Your observations are used to produce your analysis and are not used for model training, model improvement, or any purpose beyond delivering the service.

How do I delete my account?

Account settings → Delete account. This is immediate and irreversible. All your observations, analyses, and account data are removed.

How do I export my data?

Account settings → Export. You receive a JSON file with all your observations, analyses, and account data. Rate-limited to 3 exports per 24 hours.

Problems
My analysis failed. What do I do?

Most failures are one of three things:

  • Daily limit reached. Free tier resets at 00:00 UTC. You'll see a specific message.
  • Observation too vague. Add more detail and try again.
  • Transient service issue. Wait a minute and retry.

If none of those apply and the failure repeats, reply to any email from us with the observation text and we'll look at it.

I can't log in.

Check that you're using the exact email you registered with, and that your password hasn't been changed. If you're still locked out, use the password reset flow from the login screen.

The output doesn't match my situation.

Two things to try:

  • Add specifics. Names, quotes, timings, and what you want. The more concrete the input, the sharper the read.
  • Re-check the context. A dating observation analysed as professional will read incorrectly. The context is what tells the system which frameworks apply.
